Behind The Brand

Your best pieces of advice for event planning?

It sounds perhaps a little simplistic, but I still find that writing things down and making lists is still the most valuable thing I find that aids my work flow. A spread sheet or online planner will work too, but as a calligrapher I’m always going to prefer pen and paper! Setting time lines and deadlines is also essential and of course sharing this with everyone involved in the process.

What was the spark for your brand? Where did the story begin?

I was always pretty creative, and my love for handwritten notes and stationery started as a child. My studies took me into fashion, but I never felt that was quite right for me. It was only years later that in the search for a creative outlet I picked up the pointed pen and began to experiment. I then started to combine my inkings into stationery designs and everything began to take shape.

What inspires you creatively?

I’ve always looked to find inspiration in everything. My style is ever evolving and I draw ideas from nature, the sky and seasons and paintings. I love antiques and vintage books especially botanical illustrations. I have a great love of typography and like to experiment in my work.

Most memorable place you’ve travelled?

I’m going to have to say Copenhagen. The city had a little something magical for me.

On a typical weekend we’ll find you?

Usually not too far from home – enjoying some fresh air, baking in the kitchen, taking photos, or at my desk working on something with some music in the background.
